February Moment of Ministry
One of my favorite passages of scripture is Job 12:7–10,
“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth and it will speak to you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”
Few places still exist in this world where one can truly experience that passage. Our conference is blessed to have such a place in Camp Sumatanga. The mission of our camp is to create an environment dedicated to Chris and transformation.
Our church utilizes that environment well, but there may be opportunity to use it even more. I would like to suggest that your small group or Sunday school class plan a retreat to Sumatanga.
Exit 456 Identity will be March 9 and 10. Please get in touch with Mike Arnold, if you would like to volunteer.
The Cullman First Sumatanga work retreat will be March 10 and 11, organized by the Learn and Serve class. All are invited. Please get in touch with Ryan Baty to register or for more information.
I encourage everyone to consider a financial gift to Sumatanga. You may give to Sumatanga directly, either online at www.sumatanga.org, or by mail, or though the church with your gift marked for: Camp Sumatanga.
Our church also has a Sumatanga Scholarship Fund for local kids that need financial assistance in a ending camp.
Your support for Sumatanga, our place of rest and vision, is always greatly appreciated.
