Our Worship

Our contemporary worship is a high-energy service led by the Cullman First band.

Worship begins at 9:00 am in Hearin Hall. Dress is casual, the music is great, and we always have coffee! Spanish translation available

Our traditional worship features a classic liturgical service with our Cullman First chancel choir.

We have two traditional worship times to fit your schedule:
8:45 am & 11 am
in the main sanctuary.

You should expect to be warmly greeted and to feel right at home on your first visit. You’re certain to find friendly people who are ready to help you find your way without overwhelming you. And whether you’ve been to a church before or not, you’ll find that the worship service is simple to follow, the teachings are meaningful, thoughtful and relevant to your life, and there are no insider secrets. In fact, our church was built from the ground up for visitors like you, and we expect that at the end of the service, you’ll want to come back.
Each service varies in worship style and personality, and music styles range from traditional to contemporary. There is certainly a service that feels like home for you.

8:45 AM Traditional Worship (Sanctuary)
9:00 AM Contemporary Worship (Hearin Hall)

Contemporary worship at 1st UMC is an engaging service designed to create a community that is committed to God and one another.

The music is modern and it is always about Jesus. We keep the lights low so you and your neighbor can feel comfortable, and the music loud enough so no one but God can hear you sing.

1st UMC is committed to making our church safe for everyone. We believe that God’s kingdom is a place of diversity, compassion, and tolerance, and we work hard to follow this example in our church and in our lives.

If you’re looking for a place where you can be yourself, find new friends, and connect with God, you’ll find all that and more at 1st UMC!

Our Traditional Worship services feature special music from our Choir, covering a variety of styles and genres, but all intended to bring praise to God.

The congregation joins their voices to sing traditional hymns, accompanied by our pipe organ. Our pastor presents a meaningful message inspired by God’s Word.

A special time with a message for children is a part of the service; most weeks, this is followed by our Children’s Church program, where kids experience a service tailored to them.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

If you are physically unable to attend worship, the 11:00 worship service can also heard on WKUL 92.1 FM.

Yes! All Cullman First worship services have childcare and children’s church.
